Child Care Business Development

WHIDC may be able to assist you with many of the start-up tasks, like the licensing process, finding funding, learning about required insurance, information about average childcare rates where you live, etc. They may also provide valuable supports for your program once you’re up and running, such as training, coaching, and more.

About The Program

Owning and operating a childcare business can be a very challenging and rewarding career. Success in this field requires dedication, love and patience. The workday is longer than a normal eight-hour day, but the satisfaction of watching children grow and develop will be worth the extra effort. Quality childcare programs are so important to working parents and to the economy. Parents need care to work or attend school or training programs. Businesses need quality childcare programs so that their employee can get to work. Quality childcare providers protect the health and safety of the children in their care and they help children learn and be prepared for school.

Operating a quality childcare business is not easy. Childcare providers need access to training and support to get their business started and to continually improve the quality of their care.
